Position Summary 

The Athletic Development Coach will have an exciting role, within a rapidly scaling company with potential for internal growth. The successful candidate will be part of the Athletic Development group, with weekly coaching & administration responsibilities in an Intercounty GAA development squad environment. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity for additional income through involvement with Setanta College.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

Coaching

  • The successful candidate will deliver highly detailed coaching sessions working within the department coaching framework. The candidate will coach 4-5 days per week in an Intercounty GAA development squad & Minor group environment working with players from 14-17 years old.

Administration

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with the relevant groups administration, coaches, parents and players to ensure an efficient and effective training experience. The candidate will collect, analyse and report training data, providing regular reports to the relevant groups and department management.

Growth

  • The successful candidate will participate and contribute to personal and professional development within the company programme and display a passion for learning and self-improvement. The candidate will represent Setanta company values at all times, building strong relationships within assigned projects.

 

Qualification and Experience: 

  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field. 
  • Previous experience in a team sports environment.   

 

Specific Experience: 

  • Previous coaching experience with Youth Athletes aged 14-20 years. 

 

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge: 

  • The ability to communicate clearly and manage large group training delivery. 
  • A strong understanding of the basic principles of training, including specific knowledge in long term athletic development.

Personal Circumstances: 

  • The successful candidate must be available to work mornings, evenings and weekends. 
  • The successful candidate must hold a full, clean driving license and be willing to travel.

  • This is a full-time role with a combination of coaching and administrative duties.
  • The successful candidate will have opportunities for additional responsibilities and roles within the Setanta organisation.
