Testimonials
Gordon Brett Setanta College Graduate November 2011
“I would like to thank all at Setanta College for helping me gain the skills, knowledge and experience to achieve my current position with Munster Rugby.
As a Sub-Academy and Age Grade Fitness Coach with Munster Rugby the modules, content and course tutors of Setanta College have played a huge part in helping me to prepare for working with players from under age to academy level.
The course allowed me to gain practical experience in physical fitness and strength and conditioning while completing my studies in a flexible and helpful environment.
I am currently completing the Bachelor of Arts in Strength and Conditioning and look forward to continuing to work and study with Setanta College”.
Paul Beary Setanta College Graduate November 2011
Paul Beary is the current coach to Limerick hurling club Na Piarsigh who last October won their first Limerick
Senior Hurling Co Championship and subsequently went on to win the clubs first Munster Senior Hurling Club Title.
“I have been involved with Na Piarsaigh since the the early 80′s and since I stopped playing in recent years
one of my ambitions has been to train teams, but I only wanted to do this provided I had the right credentials.
I first became aware of Setanta College in late 2007 and enrolled for the Physical Fitness and Conditioning
Course. I have to say the various modules within the course covered a broad range of topics and give you a
great depth of the importance of proper player conditioning over their playing careers. Also, the structure of
the course gives you a great opportunity to tap into the knowledge already gained by fellow students and
also the tutors are available as well to lend their expertise. I have been very lucky this year to be given the
opportunity to put what I have learned into practice with our senior hurling team. Also, of equal importance
to me is that I look after the Under-7′s within our club and hopefully going forward I will see the benefits of the
long term player development programme within the club paying dividends in the years ahead.”

Mr Paul Beary receives his recent Certificate in Physical Fitness & Conditioning from Dr Liam Hennessy Director of Programmes with Setanta College.
Anthony Begley Setanta College Student December 2011
“As a current student of Setanta College, I would like to say that for years I toiled away at trying to source educational material and trying to attend any type of coaching workshop to try and better myself.
Setanta College was and is the perfect answer to what I was looking for with regards to educational content and structuring my work. It’s fantastic to know that what I’ve studied so far has directly resulted in me getting this dream job with Derry GAA. It also shows that Irish sport in general is starting to put the right structures in place with regards to player development, so I am sure there will be more Setanta College students getting jobs similar to the one I have got in the very near future”.
Nicholas Walsh Setanta College Graduate November 2011
“As a Physical Fitness and Conditioning for Sport graduate of Setanta College, I found the course, while intensive and challenging, refreshingly innovative and rewarding. I began the online course in September 2009 as a full-time employee of the G.A.A where I worked as the National Games Development Officer for Primary Schools and juvenile clubs. The blended learning format was very beneficial for me and was great preparation for the assignments.
Setanta College’s module content was very detailed and thought provoking which was backed up by the practical side of the workshops. I have an enormous interest in the Strength and Conditioning aspect of team sports, and have always wished to work full time in this aspect. It was with great joy that I was offered a role with the new Australian Rules Football team Great Western Sydney Giants in their strength and conditioning coaching unit. They are based in Sydney and I cannot wait to begin my new role with them where I hope to bring into practice what I learned through Setanta College. I would like to thank Setanta College for their assistance during the course and their tutors for their expertise”.
