Coaching Opportunity with Senior Rugby Club in Limerick

Dear Coaches,
A Senior Rugby Club in Limerick is looking for five fitness coaches to work with the five stages of development within the club.

Four of the positions are Volunteer Positions and one Lead Position will be paid expenses.

Preferred Stage of Development -

The commitment will range from 2 hours a week with the younger teams to 3/4 sessions a week with the adult team.

High Performance Director (HPD)

The role of the HPD is vital in implementing systems and strucutures
to allow the national team to realise their potential on the court.
Working closely with the High Performance Program Committee, you will
be responsible for developing, producing and implementing a high
performance plan alligned to the Strategic Plan of the IOHA using the
Irish Institute of Sport template. This is a consultancy based role
which will require quarterly reports to the board of the IOHA.

This role will ideally suit someone already in fulltime employment,
with a proven track record in the area of high performance in sport.
Handball experience and knowledge is desirable, but not essential as
this is a competencies based role.

National Team Coach

Do you enjoy a challenge? The Irish team needs an experienced
professional coach to lead them up to the next tier of handball in
Europe. Beginning with European Championship pre-qualification
tournaments in summer 2012, this role will culminate in Ireland taking
the court in World Championship Qualifiers in 2014.

The squad is a mixture of experienced and young players who are
ambitious as a group and hungry to learn. The National Team Coach will
be supported with a National Team Coordinator, Fitness Coach, Medical
Team, Sports Psychologist and Administration support from the IOHA.

Filled Positions

Position: Strength & Conditioning Coach / Manager

Salary: negotiable by experience

Derry GAA is seeking to appoint a full-time strength & conditioning coach/manager to work with hurling and football inter-county teams, hurling and football development squads, schools teams and hurling and football clubs in the county.

This will be a fixed term contract for three years dependent upon satisfactory completion of three months probationary period and subject to a review after two years.

Qualifications and experience required for this position:

Essential Qualifications:

-          Sport Science Degree or Equivalent,

-          Setanta College RTWTS or PFCS,

-          Weightlifting IAWLA level 1,

-          UKSCA accredited or equivalent,

-          Functional Screening (Gray Cook FMS, NASM, Martin Haines Performance Stability, Athlete Performance Course).

Experience:

-          Strength & Conditioning Coaching at Inter County Level (Senior & Underage) / a Professional level

-          Organising fitness education courses

-          Managing, supervising and mentoring fitness staff

-          Working with management teams and committees

-          Working with Club and School Volunteers

Preferable:

-          Masters or PHD or Experience working with a National Governing Body

Strength & Conditioning (Leinster Rugby)

Leinster Rugby are looking for Strength and Conditioning coaches to supervise sessions in the Wexford and Midlands areas.

They chosen coaches will be required to supervise a Strength and Conditioning session once a month.

Coaches will receive a nominal expenses fee per session.

Tipperary GAA Hurling & Football Academy Programme

  • Twenty weeks in the Gym/Sports Hall at The Dome Semple Stradium from September 2011 to February 2012
  • Four age groups 14/15/16/17 year olds of elite athletes
  • Squads are made up of groups of twenty four with two coaches working with each group (12 groups in total)
  • Each group will have an hour long session once a week with at home programmes in place
  • The session content will depend on age and experience but will cover Anatomical Adaptation, Fundamental Movements, Sports Specific Movements, Stretching and Strengthening Technique, Lifting Technique, all of which will be depending on the age group. Some of the players will be going into their third year and some will be starting out
  • The ideal candidate would have completed  the PFCS Course with Setanta College and would be looking to further his practical experience.
  • Close proximity or County Tipperary based coaches would be ideal
  • Expenses will be paid

The positions are voluntary positions with a school that has excellent facilities and a keen interest in Rugby. The details are below -
