Setanta College is a provider of learning  and education opportunities in the area of Sports, Fitness and Coaching studies

It offers courses on Fitness, Strength and Conditioning as well as other related areas to people in sport

Who can attend a Setanta College course?
The courses is aimed at sports team management personnel, trainers, coaches, players and athletes in order to enhance their skills and add to their expertise in the area of physical fitness, conditioning training and other related areas

What sports benefit?
The courses are aimed at all sports

What kind of courses are on offer?

  • Diploma in Club Team Conditioning (5 modules, each of 10 weeks length)
  • Resistance Training & Weight Training for Sport (3 modules, each of 12 weeks length)
  • Physical Fitness & Conditioning for Sport (6 modules, each of 12 weeks length)
  • Higher Certificate in Strength & Conditioning (12 modules, each of 12 weeks length)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Strength & Conditioning (18 modules, each of 12 weeks length)

What happens if I have to travel om holidays or business?
Missing a week or two should not present too many problems as the lectures may be printed off when one returns to normality

Are there closing dates for tasks and assignments?
Yes. However, Setanta College puts the student first. If for some reason one is not able to make deadlines, the facility is there to extend closing dates to ensure that one completes each module with one’s group. If something major occurs, then the chance to opt out and rejoin with the next group is always available to students. In fact, opting oput for 4, 8 or even 12 months and then returning to the course is also an option if something major occured at home, at work or with one’s coaching

How are courses completed?
Courses offered are either practical workshop based or blended learning study. Short courses consist of practical week-ends and week long courses, internet study and home study. They involve completion of practical coaching and training at the workshop. For blended learning courses such as the 6, 12 or 18 module courses, completion involves work from home, work with one’s team or athletes, as well as attandance at regular tutorial workshops where practical and active work will also take place

How are assessments carried out?
Assessments for the 6, 12 or 18 module courses are on a continuous basis. Each module within this course contains the following assessment elements:

  • 5 multiple-choice open-book questionnaires
  • 5 coaching/study tasks
  • 1 assignment
  • 1 final project
