Information on the formation of the Institute will be available shortly. For anyone interested in the area of strength and conditioning and who is already actively involved in this specialist area then please check our Open Workshops and our College course workshop details that are due to take place over the coming months. The full series of workshops are available in the ‘Coaching Events and Calendar’ section.
We are also pleased to announce that we have included the word ‘Skill” in our Institute title. This is actually a first in that while there are many Institutes of Strength and Conditioning throughout the world there is unfortunately limited prominence on the development of Skill. We feel that Movement Skill is such an important aspect of Coaching, Fitness and Conditioning that it deserves to be a feature of the work of the Institute. We look forward to working closely with all Coaches and Trainers who work in the fields of Coaching and Training and Instructing Skills and Fitness in Sport.
On October 28th 2009, 40 coaches certified in the area of Strength & Conditioning attended the inaugural meeting of the Institute of Skill, Strength & Conditioning (Ireland). The purpose of this meeting was to seek a mandate from certified coaches to establish the Institute. A mandate was secured and a working committee was also elected. More details will be provided on the terms and references and constitution of the Institute and work of the committee shortly.
For those interested in joining the Institute please contact setantacollege@eircom.net for more information.
